Welcome to the table

I'm a Londoner with a passion for food. I love cooking and eating, and in particular eating exciting and amazingly cooked food in London's best restaurants. Over the past few years it has become a hobby of mine to try different Michelin starred restaurants and it's now my goal to eat at all Michelin starred restaurants in London! So far I've eaten at 34 of the 66 starred restaurants in the capital, plus 16 that have now closed down or lost their stars and 8 elsewhere in the world. I want to hit all London's stars in the next few years.

The COVID-19 pandemic obviously put a halt to this goal in 2020 and 2021 but with lockdown easing I've decided to document my adventures with restaurants going forward. The main page for this blog will be the Table of Tables - my personal ranking of the Michelin starred restaurants in London. I'll also be posting detailed reviews of not just Michelin starred restaurants but other interesting spots that I visit too.

I want to highlight where in London you can eat amazing food without it costing an arm and a leg. I started eating at Michelin starred restaurants mostly on set menus, at lunchtime or on some sort of special offer, which gave me a taste for more. I've now had the full tasting menu experience at a number of restaurants (usually for a special occasion) and whilst this is unsurprisingly where you get the best a restaurant has to offer, their cheaper options can be similarly exciting.

My first two reviews will be for two set lunches that I had in the first week out of lockdown - one very good, one not so good. I have lots of bookings lined up for the coming months so hoping that 2021 will be a great year for food!
